County planning department finalizes Town of Conquest land-use law; four critical environmental areas remain to designate

County planning staff told the committee that the Town of Conquest Land Use Regulations Law was officially adopted Aug. 18 following environmental review and a recommendation from the county’s GML 239 committee. Senior Planner Evan Tuthill led the project, which produced draft regulations for site plan review, special use permits, solar energy systems, subdivision review and town environmental review provisions.
Director Kari Terwilliger reported the work has generated $11,570.07 in revenue to date, with an estimated additional $2,000 anticipated before project closeout. The only remaining task specified in the minutes is officially designating four “critical environmental areas” as defined by the local law; staff will provide training to the town on permitting, appeals and subdivisions per the contract.
