Jackson County assessor given authority to e-sign Indiana BMV contract; reassessment set for rebid

Jackson County Assessor Katie Kaufman asked the commissioners for approval to e-sign a contract with the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles; Commissioner Reedy moved to approve and Commissioner Storey seconded. The motion passed 2-0.
Kaufman told commissioners that the four-year cyclical reassessment is being put out for re-bid and said the reassessment costs about $250 per year. She said the assessor's office plans to bring more of the work in-house rather than contracting all of it.
