County finalizes EV‑charging and solar contract for Emerson Park under $135,000 NYSERDA grants

Planning staff told the committee the County has secured $135,000 in NYSERDA Clean Energy Communities funding to support solar installation and up to three dual‑port (six ports total) public EV charging stations at Emerson Park. Planner Emily Antonacci said grant funds plus IRA direct pay tax credits, NY‑SUN incentives and utility Make‑Ready incentives are expected to cover equipment and installation costs.
Antonacci reported the county executed a contract with NextEra Energy Solutions, LLC d/b/a Power Management Company for ChargePoint EV chargers on Oct. 29, 2025. Construction is anticipated next fall pending contractor and utility approvals; any remaining grant funds will be allocated to another county clean energy project. Planning, Purchasing, Parks and Highway staff will coordinate procurement and installation work and monitor incentives and final expenses.
