DOT to distribute $30.02 million in STBGP payouts to cities and counties

Secretary Joel Jundt told commissioners that the Department's annual Surface Transportation Block Grant Program (STBGP) payouts for the year total $30.02 million. The distribution will provide approximately $16.7 million to Class 1 cities (population 5,000+) and $18.3 million to the 66 counties, with some allocations earmarked for local government loan repayment or future federal-aid projects.
Jundt said payments will be made before the end of the state fiscal year on June 30. The Commission recorded the allocation amounts and the planned timing; this item was informational and no additional Commission action was required at the May 28 meeting.
