Resident asks whether potential sale of school land would help district budget or change neighborhood outlook

Salinas said new housing on such land could add young families and help district revenue, but she also warned that selling school property could erode community spaces.
"If the school district plans to sell it...new housing goes in there, it will help the school district because...young families bring the children," Salinas said. She urged both the city and the district to consider how land disposition and development decisions interact with enrollment and neighborhood stability.
The council acknowledged the question but said the city’s ability to comment was limited and that it wanted to reach a positive resolution.
