Becky Smith, who led the licensing update, told the Executive Management Team that the agency has cleared its backlog created during the LEADS rollout. "Right now, I'm happy to report we have 0 backlog," Becky said, adding that staff reduced an initial exception queue of about 4,000 files to 137 pending items through a mix of fixes and manual work.
Becky also said the licensing division has increased capacity by expanding the liquor unit from three teams to four (adding four supervisors and four staff). She credited investigators for learning workarounds in the new system and thanked IT and other divisions for supporting the transition.
