City Attorney framed the issue: Sequel Contractors submitted a letter withdrawing its bid dated June 5, 2026. The attorney stated items in the staff report that related to Sequel (items 2 and 3) would be stricken. Craig Gunther, counsel for Sequel Contractors, addressed the council to confirm the withdrawal and that Sequel would not seek further hearing.
Council then moved and seconded a motion to approve the resurfacing item as amended (items 1, 4, 5 and 6 remaining in the recommendation). The roll-call vote was 5-0 in favor. The council instructed staff to proceed with the remaining parts of the resurfacing plan.
