Senior Planner Evan Tuthill reported the County completed its annual series of recycling drop‑off events, including a fall E‑waste and household hazardous waste (HHW) event in October. Total collections for the year exceeded 277,000 pounds of material, with roughly 90,000 pounds attributable to HHW and electronic waste during the October events.
Tuthill said staff are preparing end‑of‑year reports and an application to the Household Hazardous Waste State Assistance Program to cover 2024 expenses; the County previously received $15,874.00 on December 26, 2024 to cover 50% of 2023 HHW collection costs and has submitted an application for $16,657.86 to cover 50% of 2024 expenses (Resolution 466‑24).
The committee received the update; staff did not request additional county appropriations at the meeting.
