Cayuga County Legislature elects Jonathan Anna as chair in 2026 reorganization

Jonathan Anna was elected Chair of the Cayuga County Legislature at the annual reorganization meeting on Jan. 2, 2026. The Clerk called the meeting to order at 4:01 PM; a motion by Muldrow to nominate Anna was seconded by Shea and carried with all in favor except Nightengale and McNabb-Coleman, who voted in opposition.
The Oath of Office for the Chair was administered by Hon. Thomas G. Leone. The meeting also confirmed Winslow as Vice Chair (motion by Strong, seconded by Shea, passed unanimously) and established the Legislature’s leadership for the year. These leadership votes followed a formal roll call in which Deputy Clerk Amanda Morgan reported all legislators present except Vitale (excused).
