Centerstone reports growth after CCBHC certification; recovery housing planned for Jackson County

Brittany Drawbaugh, manager of the local Centerstone office, told the board April 1 that Centerstone served about 1,100 Jackson County residents in the last fiscal year and delivered approximately 54,828 services overall. She said Centerstone became a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic on Jan. 1, which has supported staff growth and expanded services under a four‑year pilot program.
Drawbaugh reported 94 Jackson County residents used a 28‑day residential substance‑use inpatient bed in the prior 12 months and identified methamphetamine, opioids and alcohol as the highest drugs of choice reported. She said plans are underway to open a local recovery house (targeted for July), but staff are still attempting to identify a suitable property to purchase. Alissa Williams, program manager for the HRSA Rural Communities Opioid Response grant, said the program will hire a therapist for Jackson‑Jennings Community Corrections and three impact coaches (peers) to support recovery services.
