County takes paving bids under advisement; staff proposes shifting CCMG and ARPA to surface treatments

Jerry Ault opened the bid submissions—All Star Paving, Dave O'Mara, Milestone and Flynn Brothers—and told commissioners he would like to "take CCMG money and contract pave money and use it for paving and possibly use some of the ARPA money for some of these surface treatments" beginning next year in order to "get ahead of the game." County staff reported the county has been awarded $1,487,424 in CCMG funds.
Commissioners voted to take the bids under advisement; no contract award was made at the meeting. The proposal to redirect CCMG and contract funds toward surface treatments would require staff analysis of project scope and funding availability and may be brought back for formal action in a future meeting.
The paving bids were recorded during the public works contract item; commissioners did not vote to award a contract at this session.
