The council approved multiple routine appropriations and grant actions at its Feb. 11 meeting. Councilmember Tom Harris moved — and Councilmember Kerley seconded — approval of an appropriation from the sheriff's offender-registry user-fee fund to support part-time staff; the motion passed by voice vote of the members present.
The council also approved renewal of a Senior Prosecutor Hub grant, an additional $20,000 per year under an extension to an existing grant agreement, and granted permission for the prosecutor's office to apply for a Victim Services Specialist Grant to the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute for $177,310.82. Harris moved for the grant actions and Kerley seconded; the motions passed. The council additionally approved an appointment to the New Haven Economic Development Commission and voted to waive second reading on matters approved at the meeting where applicable.
