NYSERDA grants to fund solar, EV charging at Emerson Park; county ups planned EV ports to six

Planner Emily Antonacci told the committee the County is implementing two NYSERDA Clean Energy Communities grants totaling $135,000, plus IRA direct pay tax credits, NY‑Sun incentives and Make Ready utility incentives, to install solar and up to four (now revised to six) EV charging ports at Emerson Park and solar on the Motor Pool roof pending roof replacement. "Construction on the EV charging stations is anticipated to begin in Fall 2025, pending final contractor and utility approvals," Antonacci said.
Antonacci said the motor pool solar installation is on hold until roof replacement goes out to bid and that staff revised the project scope to increase EV charging ports from four to six to ensure grant funds are used before expiration. The committee previously authorized (Resolution 286‑25) a contract and purchase of ChargePoint stations to be paid from grant funds.
