Planning Director Kari Terwilliger reported Sept. 11 that the County is progressing a contract connected to a $1,000,000 County Infrastructure Grant awarded for the Bluefield Pointe housing project, and that staff are coordinating with the City of Auburn and Empire State Development to finalize terms. Terwilliger said the county prepared a "call for projects" after the state announced a second round of county‑specific infrastructure funding and noted the only pre‑application received in the previous round was for waterlines in the Town of Sennett.
Terwilliger said the Planning Department will review eligibility rules when the next round opens and will present options to the Legislature on whether to apply for municipal or county park projects; she said more details will be provided in future reports as the contract with the City of Auburn and ESD is finalized.
