Planning committee refers Emerson Foundation log‑cabin grant for O'Hara Museum to Ways and Means

The Cayuga County Planning Committee on Sept. 11 referred to Ways and Means an item authorizing acceptance of a grant from the Fred L. Emerson Foundation to support replacement of the Ward W. O'Hara Agricultural & Country Living Museum log cabin. Legislator Elane Daly moved the referral and Hon. Robert Shea seconded; the motion passed "all in favor."
Museum Director Tim Quill told the committee the museum "was awarded a $25,000.00 grant from the Emerson Foundation to help replace the log cabin" and outlined upcoming events, including a 50th anniversary celebration scheduled for Sept. 21, 2025. The museum will continue to host certain county meetings in the Brier Classroom through the end of 2026 while the County Office Building is closed.
