Planning Commission corrects industrial zoning text to change landscape ratio from 80% to 20%
Summary
Staff told commissioners the industrial zone text mistakenly specified an 80% minimum landscape surface ratio; the commission voted to recommend changing the ordinance text to require a 20% landscape surface ratio and will send the item to council for a public hearing and final action.

Planning staff advised that language in the L1 (light industrial) zone text incorrectly set a minimum landscape surface ratio at 80 percent when the intended standard is 20 percent. Staff described the correction as a text amendment rather than a policy change and said the item will proceed to the common council for a public hearing, with council action expected on July 6.
“This was just a correction within our industrial zoning where it was putting the 80% minimum landscape surface ratio, which really was intended to be 20%,” the staff member said. The commission moved and voted to send the text amendment on to the council for the required public hearing.
