Commission approves Ruston Timber extraterritorial map after applicant confirms county driveway permit

The Planning Commission approved an extraterritorial certified survey map for a 10‑acre lot tied to Ruston Timber LLC. Staff told the commission the lot sits adjacent to the city’s industrial park at the southwest corner of the Highway 81 and N intersection and that staff did not foresee conflicts with future roads.
Commissioners asked whether an additional access road was possible; the applicant identified himself as Mike Lambert and said the county had recently approved a permit for a 50‑foot driveway approximately 800 feet south of the intersection. “There is an a permit that was just approved by the county,” Mike Lambert said. After brief discussion the commission moved, called the roll, and approved the map.
