The Clark County Board of Commissioners on July 15 approved Resolution 20-25 to submit an application to the South Dakota Bridge Improvement Grant Program for structure 13-070-276, located 8.4 miles north and 4.0 miles east of Carpenter, South Dakota.
Commissioner Francis Hass moved to approve the resolution and Commissioner Chris Sass seconded. The board recorded a unanimous vote in favor, 5–0. The resolution states the county certifies the project is listed in its Five‑Year County Highway and Bridge Improvement Plan and agrees to provide the required 20% local match and to pay 100% of any ineligible expenses.
The resolution further requests that "the South Dakota Department of Transportation be and hereby is requested to accept the attached Bridge Improvement Grant Application." The county must now finalize and submit the application and any supporting documentation required by the state before award decisions are made.
