Planning updates: Brown annexation application, 2025 Comprehensive Plan under review, park plan extension recommended

Planning & Building Director Alex Kovach told council the Brown annexation requires an amending application to reflect new acreage; Mr. Brown attended and said he is working with his attorney to submit the amendment so the City Attorney can draft an ordinance once Grant County approval is obtained.
Kovach said the 2025 Comprehensive Plan is complete and under review by White Bluffs Consulting, and council anticipates scheduling a hearing before submitting the plan to the State. He also recommended extending the current City Park Plan, which expires in February 2026, to maintain eligibility for RCO funding; council asked Kovach to prepare the extension documentation for review and approval.
