Office for the Aging reports service loads; committee approves appointments, contract and a Medicare outreach grant application

Wyoming County’s Office for the Aging reported program caseloads (EISEP, HDM and caregiver services), the committee approved two Advisory Council appointments and authorized a contract with Aurora Adult Day Services and a grant application to the New York State Office for the Aging for at least $18,797.
The Office for the Aging presented caseload figures and program updates at the Feb. 24 Human Services Committee meeting. Staff reported EISEP participation at approximately 76 participants (59 active), home-delivered meals with 331 active participants and 281 meals served that day, and Alzheimer caregiver services serving roughly 65 families.
The committee approved appointments to the OFA Advisory Council: Theresa Gilliland (Town of Genesee Falls) and Paul Pilc (Town of Bennington). Members also authorized a professional services contract with Aurora Adult Day Services for respite services (term: 01/01/26–12/31/27; amount variable, not to exceed the 2026–2027 budget) and approved a grant application and acceptance with the New York State Office for the Aging for outreach and counseling to low-income Medicare beneficiaries in a minimum amount of $18,797 for the period 09/01/2025–08/31/2026.
