Wyoming County panel honors local WWII casualty, schedules Veterans health fair

The Wyoming County Human Services Committee on Feb. 24 approved a resolution to dedicate a portion of Wyoming Road (between Route 19 and Saltvale Road) in Covington to Jack McGee, who was killed in World War II. The motion was moved by May and carried with six ayes; Supervisor Prior was absent.
Veterans Services (A. Solina) also presented a Dwyer report, the committee named Devin Bacon of Pike, N.Y., as Veteran of the Month and highlighted upcoming events including a Veterans’ Health Fair on March 29 and free haircuts for veterans on March 4 in the Agriculture Center basement. The committee approved a separate proclamation for Vietnam Veterans Day (motion moved by May; Ayes:6).
