Clay County commissioners approve $525,442.08 in payables, award courthouse electrical bid

The Clay County Board of Commissioners approved accounts payable totaling $525,442.08 and adopted the minutes as printed during their May 4, 2026 regular meeting.
Ryan West, County Maintenance, presented two bids to replace both panel electrical boxes on the west side of the Courthouse: Althiser Electric at $2,312.56 and JP Electric at $2,720.58. Commissioner Mayo moved to accept the Althiser Electric bid for $2,312.56 to be paid from the Courthouse Maintenance Fund; Commissioner Carlson seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The Board also asked Mr. West to inspect a bench on the south side of the Courthouse for repairability and to obtain pricing from Champlin Tire Recycling, Inc. on a recycled-tire bench for future consideration.
