Cowley County moves environmental services and floodplain management into county administration

County Administrator Lucas Goff presented a proposal to transfer environmental services and floodplain management duties from the City County Health Department to Cowley County staff, saying most counties handle these services within county administration.
Commissioners approved the transfer by a 3-0 vote. Goff said floodplain management will move immediately to Emergency Operations and the remaining environmental functions will move to the Administrator’s Office.
