The board approved a three‑year subscription with Tinker for coding electives in grades 6–8 covering school years 2025–2028 for a total cost of $69,120.
Trustees asked staff about the vendor selection and the program’s scale; a staff presenter said TinkerCoding has broad adoption and had been selected because of prior positive experience. "Over a 150,000 schools worldwide use TinkerCoding," a staff speaker said when describing the vendor background. Trustee David Pambo moved approval; Trustee Stephanie Olsen seconded and the board approved the subscription on a voice vote with four ayes and one absence.
Staff said the program supports a range of skill levels from kindergarten‑level tinkering up to advanced coding, and noted that district staff will provide additional documentation about the vendor selection process on request.
