Trustees approved a $67,343 contract with RNC Residential and Commercial Lighting to install LED lighting at Wickland Elementary, a step the district said will meet state efficiency requirements and allow reuse of parts at other sites as budgets permit. The district plans to start LED upgrades at Wickland and later expand to other campuses where PG&E incentives are not available.
Trustee Olson moved approval and Trustee Pombo seconded; the motion passed unanimously. Staff framed the project as a cost-saving, phased approach to bring schools into compliance with state lighting standards and to preserve funds for other facility needs.
