Committee advances acceptance of new streets at Hunters View HOPE SF Phase 2

The committee voted July 27 to recommend an ordinance accepting irrevocable offers of public infrastructure associated with Hunters View HOPE SF Phase 2 and delegating authority to the Department of Public Works and the Director of Property to execute deeds and easements.
Jason Liu, a HOPE SF/Mayor's Office staffer, reviewed HOPE SF's phased redevelopment: phase 1 (2013) included 107 new affordable units and a park; phase 2 added 179 affordable units and community amenities; phase 3 completed earlier this year added 118 affordable units and neighborhood-serving spaces. "At full build out, Hunters View can welcome up to 400 market-rate units in addition to those affordable units," Liu told the committee and described new sidewalks, curb ramps, utility lines and streetscape improvements included in the offer of dedication.
No members of the public lined up to comment on the ordinance. Chair Mirna Melgar moved to adopt staff amendments and forward the item as a committee report to the full Board; Vice Chair Cheyenne Chen and Supervisor Bilal Mahmood voted aye along with the Chair, and the motion passed with three ayes.
The committee's recommendation will be transmitted to the Board of Supervisors for consideration the next day.
