Board honors longtime educators, small businesses and community leaders during recognitions hour

The board also presented commendations connected with Afghan American Heritage Month and South Asian American Heritage Month, and recognized the Pomeroy Recreation and Rehabilitation Center during Disability Pride Month. Awardees and their representatives spoke briefly, highlighting partnerships with schools, public safety, and nonprofit networks.
Anya Worley Zigman of the People's Budget Coalition thanked supervisors for the recognition and said the coalition's organizing helped protect services in this year's budget. Supervisors across the dais emphasized the role of community advocacy and volunteerism in shaping city outcomes.
