The Independence Planning Commission approved a short-term rental at 230 South Cedar Avenue and asked staff to require additional management contact information to ensure timely responses to issues.
Staff recommended approval for a two-bedroom home with a maximum occupancy of four adults and described the site and parking configuration. Raymond Zahid, representing applicant Krista Salazar (who is out of the country), said the property is updated, has exterior cameras and that local contacts would manage the property until the owner returned.
Commissioner Nesbitt moved to approve the permit with an added recommendation that the applicant provide at least two additional phone numbers for local management; the commission voted 7–0. Staff confirmed the city would keep management contact information on file and that operators must notify the city of any changes to management contacts.
