Jubanville backs specialty courts and prevention-focused approach to reduce recidivism

Robert Jubanville told the interviewer he supports expanding specialty courts and prevention efforts to keep people out of the criminal-justice system. "I'm a 100% for that," Jubanville said of drug court, mental-health court and veterans court, and said similar options should be available to other young people who commit crimes so they do not end up with lifelong records.
He cited a Harvard study requested by the chief judge of the Supreme Judicial Court that characterized systemic racism in the courts and said reforms must be cultural and top-down. Jubanville argued that a great DA not only prosecutes crime but works to prevent it through early intervention and alternatives to conviction.
