Commissioners select new 2026 health, vision and dental plans

The Clark County Board of Commissioners voted on Nov. 4 to adopt new benefit providers for 2026. The board approved Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield for health insurance, Optilegra for vision, and Principal Life for life insurance. The county will terminate Delta Dental and join AFLAC for dental coverage; changes are effective Jan. 1, 2026.
Commissioner Sara Gjerde moved to approve the changes and Commissioner Chris Sass seconded; the motion carried with all voting aye. The minutes record the providers by name and the effective date but do not include premium amounts or the county’s projected budgetary impact in the meeting notes.
