Commissioners approve new ambulance pay structure and add EVOC drivers

Shift staff rates included an EMT rate of $260.00 per 24-hour shift and a paramedic rate of $315.00 per 24-hour shift; shift employees receive additional run pay and differentials for weekends and approved holidays under the new structure. The board approved the payroll proposal by motion (effective Jan. 1, 2026).
The board also voted to add Tad Heaton, Lindsey Stiefel, Nate Nickeson, Peyton Hoffer and Travis Ahrens as EVOC drivers for Clark County Ambulance; Commissioner Sara Gjerde moved and Commissioner Chris Sass seconded the motion, which passed with all voting aye.
The action includes staffing pay clarifications and a range of operational differentials (second rig pay, special events, and holiday rules) described in the proposal. The commission recorded the motion and unanimous vote; no dissenting votes were recorded.
The decision is procedural and sets compensation and driver authorizations; no further immediate budget adjustments were detailed in the minutes.
