County authorizes up to $1,800 for airport grass-runway markers and signs pavement agreement with state

Clark County commissioners on Oct. 7 authorized two airport-related actions: permitting the airport board to purchase grass-runway markers and authorizing the chairman to sign a state pavement maintenance agreement covering a county cost share.
Airport board members Dean Kirkeby, Jed Hansen, Dan Batchelor and Chuck Beving explained the need for replacing runway markers on the grass runway while Brooke Edgar of Helms and Associates (participating via Zoom) discussed potential airport grant funding and the availability of fuel tax fund monies. The board voted to allow the airport board to spend up to $1,800 to buy markers and necessary supplies; airport volunteers agreed to remove the old markers and place the new ones.
Separately, the board approved and allowed the Chairman to sign the State Financial Agreement for pavement maintenance for Airport project #3-46-460031-2025; the county’s estimated share of costs was recorded as $2,368.32. Both actions were approved unanimously and recorded in the official minutes.
