The purchase motion, made by Commissioner Francis Hass and seconded by Commissioner Chris Sass, carried with all voting aye.
Separately, the board accepted resignations/retirements for long-serving highway employees Dennis Herman (effective Dec. 16, 2025) and David Borns (effective Jan. 8, 2026), thanking Herman for 30 years and Borns for 33 years of service. The board appointed Steve LaFortune as Assistant Highway Superintendent effective Dec. 17, 2025 with a pay increase at that time, and approved hiring Joshua Boysen effective Sept. 8, 2025 at a starting salary of $21.88 per hour during a six-month probation period.
