Residents raise concerns about property appraisals and alleged salvage yard; board asks staff to investigate

John Brookins, identified in the minutes as a rural Cherokee County resident, reported trash and sewage problems at 1414 Fir Road in Baxter Springs and said the property contains multiple run-down vehicles, mowers and appliances such that it appears to be used as a salvage yard. The board instructed Emergency Management to look into Brookins’s report; Emergency Management Coordinator Matt Haviland was present for the discussion.
