The Ward County Commissioners' Court unanimously found an emergency and approved a package of budget amendments at its Dec. 22, 2025 meeting. Judge Greg Holly and Commissioners Guy Thames, Larry Hanna and Billy Redmon voted to adopt line-item changes affecting the General Fund, Road and Bridge Fund and multiple department budgets.
The minutes record notable adjustments including a $991,753.17 transfer into the Building Construction/Renovation Fund with a matching $991,753.17 expense recorded in the Road Grant Fund, and a $100,000 increase to the Pool Fund for Barstow Pool construction. The motion to approve the amendments was made by Commissioner Larry Hanna, seconded by Commissioner Guy Thames, and adopted unanimously.
