Clark County approves $363,000 in CIC contracts to support SBDC, Dayton Development Coalition and economic development

March 4, 2026 — The Clark County Board of Commissioners authorized three separate contracts with the Community Improvement Corporation (CIC) to support local economic development programs and outreach.
Commissioner Charles A. Patterson moved to authorize a $10,000 contract to support the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) marketing and seminars (Resolution 2026-0168) and a $28,000 contract to support administrative and promotional work for the Dayton Development Coalition (Resolution 2026-0169). The board then approved a $325,000 contract to assist CIC in promoting new economic development and retaining existing industrial, commercial and research facilities in Clark County (Resolution 2026-0170). All motions were seconded by Commissioner Richard L. Lohnes and passed unanimously.
During the agenda review, Commissioner Lohnes asked whether the Chamber and CIC had publicly supported the public safety building; Commissioner Sasha L. Rittenhouse said she "was not sure about CIC, but the Chamber has publicly supported the public safety building," and Administrator Jennifer Hutchinson said she had received two letters of support from the Chamber. The resolutions authorize the County Administrator to execute contracts and related purchase orders in the stated amounts and timeframes.
