Commissioners asked what the additional $46,000 would buy and requested a detailed breakdown and comparisons to similarly sized counties before agreeing to any increase. "That is a big jump," one commissioner said, adding that he wanted to understand which staff or program areas would be funded and how Stark County's population size factored into Purdue's formula (discussion, SEG 3066–3076). Purdue agreed to provide the requested materials and return to the board with specifics.
The board took no final action and invited Purdue Extension to supply the comparative data and a program-by-program explanation for the increase.
