Staff reviewed appropriation requests and said several organizations missed the town’s December 31 deadline. The board noted that Rutland County Parent and Child Center, Vermont Family Food Center, Habitat for Humanity and Vermont Adult Learning either did not submit on time or missed the information required by policy. A select board member said the policy requires on‑time petitions and that late requests set an unwanted precedent.
Members agreed by consensus to exclude the late submissions from the current warning and recommended organizations follow the published process for next year or pursue a petition process if they want mid‑cycle consideration. "We sent them a letter saying we're putting them in at 01/25 same as last year for these 3 reasons," a staff member said, summarizing correspondence to applicants.
