Residents call for stricter enforcement of motorized vehicles on PowerLine Trail

Several residents raised safety concerns about motorized and electric vehicles using the PowerLine Trail at speeds and sizes they described as unsafe.
Red Turner (speaker 8) told council he is seeing ebikes, scooters and electric skateboards traveling quickly on the trail and said some appear to be electric motorcycles that are large and heavy. He said the trail was intended for a quiet experience and asked the township to do something about it. Turner added that some riders perform wheelies and create hazards.
Council members responded that ebikes are not allowed on the trail and that signage is posted, but that enforcement is difficult unless officers catch riders in the act. Council advised residents to call 911 so officers can be dispatched and potentially witness violations; they also said signage language may need clarification to distinguish e-bike types.
Another resident, Bridal McVay, raised related maintenance concerns about dead trees along the Jarrett Road section of the trail and asked public works to assess hazard removal; council agreed to follow up with Public Works and code enforcement.
