Resident says neighbor is blocking Sullivan Road, Jury to investigate

Danny Sullivan told the Winn Parish Police Jury that a neighbor has repeatedly moved personal property into the public right-of-way on Sullivan Road and is obstructing travel and ditch drainage. He said deputies have spoken with the neighbor but “they keep moving their stuff out further and further towards the road,” and that junk left in the ditches prevents the grader from working the drainage.
President Frank McLaren and Jury members discussed on-site measurements with Operator Gavin Snowden, who stated the road is “16' 6" wide.” Assistant Road Superintendent Paul Hodnett reported pothole patching is ongoing, one drag behind the tractor is waiting on parts, and the Road Department still needs a hired tractor operator who did not report for work. The Jury said it will investigate the right-of-way encroachments and try to remove equipment and debris from the ditches so drainage and grading can resume.
