State-funded Swyft Fiber project to begin in Winn Parish; company to coordinate local permitting

Taylor Spangler, project manager with Swyft Fiber, said a state-funded program will bring fiber to rural parts of Winn Parish and that construction "should be starting within the next couple of weeks." He said Swyft provided route maps to the parish secretary (Mrs. Tyler) and will coordinate with mayors and local water systems on permits and boring requirements.
Swyft staff said they will bore lines approximately 10 feet deep and acknowledged the possibility of accidental strikes to existing utilities, adding they will work with the Police Jury to minimize disruptions. Company representatives said they were "excited to be working here in Winn Parish" and encouraged local coordination on permitting and contact points.
