Winn Parish road crews report culvert work, hot-mix paving and pothole patching

Road Superintendent Perry Holmes updated the Winn Parish Police Jury on local maintenance projects, listing completed and in-progress work and short-term staffing constraints. "We have finished the culverts on Aunt Marie’s Road and are starting the replace the culverts on L. Sullivan," Holmes said, and reported that the hot-mix project on Eugene Garrett "looks good" while Rufus Long Road is next in line for paving.
Assistant Road Superintendent Paul Hodnett added that tractors are working Mill Creek–area roads and one tractor is awaiting parts, and that grass cutting has been slowed by recent rain. He said crews are continuing pothole patching as needed and are recruiting a truck driver to increase patching capacity. FEMA-funded repairs on Braxton and Brewer roads are complete, but related FEMA work on other roads is delayed pending a time extension request.
