Lyon County Commissioners voted 3-0 on April 3 to purchase a used 2017 Caterpillar 12M3AWDX motor grader from Foley Equipment for $192,565, to be paid from Multi-Year Fund 017-00-9026. County Engineer Chip Woods presented the quote and recommended the purchase to replace older equipment.
Woods told the board the proposed trade-in is D-94, a 2005 Caterpillar 12H with 20,933 hours; basic repairs on D-94 were estimated at roughly $45,000, and the trade-in value was listed at $55,000 toward the new grader. The motion passed unanimously (Bartel/Duft 3-0). The purchase was presented as a funded item charged to the county's multi-year equipment fund.
