County discusses updated procurement for BASE grant, gets courthouse HVAC/windows update and broadband briefing

Community Development Director Shari Kaminska told commissioners the county needs a revised procurement and purchasing policy to administer a BASE Grant and that she will meet with SCKEDD to begin grant administration. Kaminska said engineers from MKC held a kickoff meeting for the county master plan and that Wichita State University's Community Engagement Institute returned survey results paid for by a Network Kansas grant.
Tyler Garst of Community Building Solutions presented an update on courthouse HVAC and windows, and Twin Valley representatives Aaron Wertenberger and Scott gave a short briefing on broadband options for Elk County. No formal votes were taken on the presentations themselves; Kaminska was named liaison for a pending property sale on Dove Road when the commission approved hiring Alan Johnson to sell that parcel.
