Emergency Management seeks EMPG funding and reports siren repairs after storm coordination

Cordell said Wholesale #23 radio tower equipment move will be paid from the E911 Fund, reported a July 31 meeting with KDEM (Kansas Division of Emergency Management) on Public Assistance for April storm damage, and said all county sirens passed the August test; she noted the Moline siren's board was replaced on Aug. 8.
Cordell presented the Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) application and the commission voted 3-0 to allow her to move forward with submission. The items reported are procedural steps that would allow the county to pursue federal/state grant reimbursement for storm-related public assistance and strengthen local alerting infrastructure.
