Geneva County adopts resolution urging state lawmakers to oppose proposed SSUT reallocation to schools

Williams said the change would be “devastating to our county budget.” Commissioner Jeff Hatcher moved to adopt a resolution asking the county's state legislators to oppose the reallocation; Commissioner Bart Wilks seconded and the motion passed 4-0.
County Attorney Phil Eldridge advised that the resolution should include a dollar-value estimate showing the potential loss to the county budget; Administrator Williams provided the commission with the latest legislative report from the ACCA and will add the requested figure before sending the resolution to the county's legislators.
