Troup County authorities approve resolution to return property to Interface Floor, set Dec. 8 closing

The Troup County Development Authority and Public Facility Authority voted to approve a resolution authorizing an officer to sign closing documents transferring property conveyed under a 2018 bond-lease back to Interface Floor, the board chair said. Staff described the action as procedural and said the closing is set for Dec. 8, 2025, with language in the resolution allowing the closing date to be extended if necessary.

Staff member (Speaker 3) explained the background: in 2018 the authority took title to Interface Floor’s real and personal property as part of a bond-lease transaction and leased it back to the company during the bond period. "So the purpose of this meeting is to authorize an officer to sign off on the closing documents to sign the property back over to Interface the real property and personal property," Staff member (Speaker 3) said. He told the board he had prepared a resolution that would permit the chairman or a designated designee to execute closing documents.

Board members discussed who would be available to sign on or about Dec. 8 and agreed to designate the chairman with two backups, including the secretary, to ensure signatures are available; the board voted by show of hands and the Chair declared the motion carried.
