Commissioners approved a change order, not to exceed $285,000, to complete obstruction clearance at LaGrange Callaway Airport. County staff said the amount will come from the airport fund and that they completed negotiations with property owners; a final drone flight is scheduled to validate tree heights before completing the work.
"The new amount is not to exceed $285,000 to help cover the change order and it'll come from the airport fund," the County Manager said. A staff presenter added the final drone run will corroborate counts and verify altitudes of trees deemed a risk to navigation. The motion to approve the change order was made, seconded and carried by voice vote.
Staff described the action as necessary to finish the project within the contract scope and did not identify pending legal or funding contingencies beyond the single change-order authorization.
