Clark County adopts five-year Road & Bridge improvement plan

On Sept. 15, 2025, the Clark County Board of County Commissioners adopted Resolution 21-25, formally recognizing the county’s Five-Year Highway and Bridge Improvement Plan for 2026. The resolution states the plan was developed with input from the South Dakota Department of Transportation, county staff, the First District Association of Local Governments, townships and the public, and that it includes maps and lists of inventories, project needs and revenue sources.
The resolution references a public meeting held Sept. 2, 2025 to solicit input. Commissioner Sara Gjerde moved for adoption and, after a second, the board recorded a unanimous vote (Sass, Hass, Gjerde, Schlagel, Knock). Adoption makes the county eligible to apply for South Dakota DOT Local Bridge and Improvement Grant funds under the requirements spelled out in the resolution.
