County: All FEMA projects submitted; core sampling underway on Bridge #640

Road & Bridge Supervisor Josh Hinch told the Wabaunsee County Commission on March 9 that "All FEMA Projects are submitted at this time" and that county reimbursements should be forthcoming. He thanked staff members Lynn Deever and Amy Terrapin for their work on FEMA reporting and said county staff attended the Kansas Noxious Weed Conference to track additional listed species.
Hinch said core sampling is being completed on Bridge #640 as part of routine inspection and project planning. He also reported that hauling gravel to 8 Mile Road has been delayed because several county gravel trucks are broken down; he said hauling will resume once replacement trucks arrive and that the county plans to schedule the annual township meeting in April to review local road maintenance and naming requests.
